Jentastic’s Drunken Brush Goop Review vs Master’s Brush Cleaner

Brush cleaner is one of the important essential tools that one should have in his painting arsenal. Especially if you are using sable brushes, a good brush cleaner will definitely keep the sable brushes at its tip top condition pointed and last a long while!

I have been using the Master’s Brush Cleaner for a long time ever since I am into this painting hobby. When it comes to brush cleaner, most painters would definitely recommend Master’s Brush Cleaner. Master’s Brush Cleaner does its job well, clean up and at the same time it conditions the bristles.

Until recently I came across a brush cleaner called Jentastic’s Drunken Brush Goop. Shoshie’s Magnificent Mini Painting reviewed it and it seems to does an amazing job. Then I came across another site Fields of Blood talking about Jentastic’s Drunken Brush Goop being better than Master’s Brush Cleaner. This made me curious and I decided to order some to try it out.

Right out of its 2oz pot container, the Jentastic’s Drunken Brush Goop looks like some organic soap. The colour and texture looks much different from Master’s Brush Cleaner.

I used a Citadel Layer M brush to test it out. The brush which has a slight green stain on the bristles, is first cleaned with Master’s Brush Cleaner. It does it job well, and clean out the stains. Then after I continue to clean the brush further with Jentastic’s Drunken Brush Goop. The application is pretty the same as Master’s. Few drops of water on the Jentastic’s Drunken Brush Goop cleaner and gently massage the bristles, and rinsed after that. The result is Jentastic’s Drunken Brush Goop further cleans the brush removing more of the residual stains on the bristles. At the same time, the bristles felt softer and smoother as well. The result is impressive.
