Necron and Thoughts

I am sure by now all the Necrons fans must be celebrating or are in preparation for the release of the new Necrons coming soon somewhere in November. I guess this would mark one of the last few races where it’s not updated since like coming to almost 10 years already. The last race that was so long, was the Dark Eldar, which had a fantastic release with awesome miniatures a while back.

I guess everyone would be having expectation of a reasonable well updated codex with awesome miniatures. After the long break, the rules should be tuned to the current updated 40k rules. Guess we will have to see how it is when the codex is release. Probably I will get the Codex and have a good read. To collect, oh no… would love to, but I just have to pass and concentrate on my current armies, and also my new interest in contest and other smaller brands of miniatures.

For the miniatures range, if you have not seen the leaked pictures, check it out at BOLS and Beast of War sites. First impression, the miniatures range do look good. But after much observing the pictures… it comes to one question everyone would have. Where are all the acrylic green rods for the Gauss weapons…? Seems like GW has done away with extras of the green acrylic. I am guessing probably its cost maybe? No point creating an extra mould for just the plastic green rods, where nowadays with the new moulding technology they can squeeze every single options into one sprue. As with the usual what GW is trending, all possible options would most likely be available in a single sprue, pretty much like the Dark Eldar and Grey Knights.

Then next question that leaves me pondering is the leaked pictures. I am sure all of us have heard of GW being tight about new releases and rumours and such. Is is all a marketing and publicity stunt? Saying its policy is to keep rumours tight lipped, then secretly dropped some leak images and causing a stir. If it is serious about tight lipped, then it should be done like what Apple is doing… no one knows anything at all till it official announcements. Well, I still prefer rumours and tiny bits of news here and there. This way it will keep fans all peeled and in high anticipation, along with ready budgets. Well, for now… let’s wait and see how cool the Necrons would be like… Cheers!
